BJP-led NDA candidate Harivansh Narayan Singh Chosen new Rajya Sabha deputy chairman

The UPA's offender, Congress MP BK Hariprasad, obtained 105 votes.

Harivansh Narayan New NDA Candidate

"I congratulate Harivansh ji on behalf of the entire home. He's been blessed with the ability to compose. He was also a favorite of former PM Chandra Shekhar ji," explained PM Narendra Modi, shortly after the outcomes.

Harivansh is a JD(U) Parliamentarian from Bihar and also a former writer.

After the failed no-confidence movement against the government in the Lok Sabha last month, the competition for the post of RS deputy chairman has been viewed as the upcoming major test of resistance unity.

In nominating a JD(U) candidate, the BJP was trying to reach out to its allies who've been whining about being left outside.

The lack of a majority in the Rajya Sabha was a large problem for the BJP. Now, needless to say, it is beneficial for the BJP to have its own candidate triumph since the chairman (Venkaiah Naidu) and his deputy from the RS will be its own choices.

The BJD (with nine chairs ) on Wednesday threw its weight behind BJP-led NDA from the election because of the deputy chairperson of Rajya Sabha providing the ruling coalition a definite advantage.

"BJD is encouraging JD(U) because JD (U) and BJD have comparable ideological origins-emerging in Jay Prakash Narayan movement.

Congress offender was AICC in-charge of Odisha till lately and has been vitriolic in his own statements contrary to BJD and say," stated the BJD in an announcement to news agency ANI before voting started from the RS.

On Wednesday, BJP national leader Amit Shah, Sanjay Raut, chief of BJP's restive ally Shiv Sena, Akali Dal's S S Dhindsa and JD (U)'s RCP Singh filed four collections of newspapers in service of Harivansh.
